Soy wax is derived from a vegetables (soy beans), while its counterpart, paraffin wax is derived from petroleum (a refined a gasoline product). Soy wax is a natural, renewable resource that is biodegradable and cleans up with plain old soap and water.
In this class you’ll learn the proper way to melt, color, scent, and pour – everything you need to know to safely and easily make your own soy candles at home. All materials will be provided and everyone will get to make one 9 oz. jar soy candle in your choice of scent and color. Candles can be picked up two days after class, as they will need time to cure. Several popular scents will be available to choose from or you can email the instructor if you have a specific scent in mind at firstname.lastname@example.org.
