Overshot is a weave structure used commonly in 19th century coverlets. In this workshop for intermediate weavers we’ll explore how overshot works, the drafts, variations in treadling, and the use of colors. The format will be in a round robin, with each weaver going home with several samples, as well as classroom notes. Students will need to bring a prepared warp and the instructor will contact each registered student prior to class to give direction. Please feel free to bring your own 4 shaft loom or favorite shuttles if you’re more comfortable with your own equipment. Otherwise, looms and all equipment are provided.
