Silversmithing isn't typically a self-taught hobby. The best way to start is with an introductory class that lets you get your hands on the metal and tools. Besides learning the tools of the trade, you’ll learn how to measure, cut, file, solder, and drill silver. As you create your own sterling silver poppy pendant (complete with stamens), you’ll be practicing the fundamental skills necessary to make jewelry.
Chain is not included, but will be available at class for purchase. There will be a lunch break so please bring a lunch and drink. No loose scarves or flowing sleeves please. Bring your magnifying glasses if needed for close work.
TINA SIEBEL is the owner/designer of Serendipity Creations, a handcrafted artisan jewelry company she founded in 2006. She began intensive training in silversmithing four years ago and has been working with sterling silver ever since. Tina grew up in the Thousand Islands, but now summers in South Colton, NY and winters in New Smyrna Beach, FL.
