Pysanky is the Ukrainian art of egg decoration using a wax-resist method. Many families make it a tradition surrounding the Easter holiday and eggshells of all sizes and colors lend themselves to these gorgeous, shiny works of art. This class will help familiarize you with the wide range of Ukrainian folk art patterns and symbols while creating your unique Pysanka eggs. Please bring 3 – 4 blown-out eggs of any size with an egg carton to carry your work home – and wear old clothes or bring an apron. The instructor can help if you aren’t familiar with how to blow out your eggs.
