Create a unique piece of jewelry from residential copper heating pipe! Students will work with hammers, anvils and torches to create patterns on copper. They’ll learn the principles of air chasing, how to plan the hammer strikes to control the height, depth, and location of the pattern, how to anneal copper, how to clean fire-scale, finishing techniques, oxidation and waxing. Please wear work clothes, closed toe shoes, and tie your hair up if it’s long. Get ready to safely enjoy the process of creating a free form piece of jewelry!
