Acrylic painting is a great way to get started as a painter. Colors mix beautifully, the paint dries quickly and mistakes can be easily painted over. This class will focus on landscape as subject matter, giving attention to atmospheric perspective to capture the moods of the scenic North Country.
Students will learn how to mix colors, and to use complementary colors and neutrals to their best advantage. Techniques for applying paint with a palette knife, dry brush, scumbling and wet into wet blending will all be covered while each student completes at least one or two small paintings of their own.
