SAORI is the Japanese art of handweaving with no rules or samples to follow, and no mistakes – only possibilities!  It's like painting with yarn; skipped warp threads, irregular selvages, playing with color and texture, all add to the spontaneity of SAORI handwoven cloth.

Each student will have a pre-warped loom to work with, along with bobbins, shuttles, weft yarns, novelty yarns, hand-dyed roving, hand-dyed locks, sari ribbons and yarns, fabric cutter, scissors, and clipping rods.  The instructor will also have samples of work, SAORI books, and sample limited edition warps for viewing, guidance, and inspiration.  No prior weaving experience necessary.  Come to have fun and get creative!
