Watercolor experience necessary.

DAVID R. BECKER studied at the American Academy of Art in Chicago.  Soon after, he began work as an illustrator for one of the top advertising agencies in the country, J. Walter Thompson.  He also started teaching around the country while continuing his favorite passion, fine art paintings. David has authored several books and articles on the topic of watercolor and has won numerous awards for his work.  He is highly recognized for his watercolor scenes in and around Chicago, with his favorite being the one that was commissioned by Macy’s Starbucks in Chicago.  David’s work can be seen at www.BeckerArt.net.

A watercolor class with David R. Becker teaches you watercolor control and the many techniques in painting with this medium.  Like the title suggests, it will be the most important watercolor class you’ll ever take!  You’ll learn about watercolor from beginning to end, mastering control and creating well-composed paintings. Teaching students to conquer the medium of watercolor is David's goal and he takes great pride in making sure every student leaves with the ability to control watercolor.

Some watercolor experience is necessary.  Bring your favorite watercolors, brushes, and paper.  David suggests 140 lb cold pressed paper for best results.

Class will be held at the beautiful Lucky Star Ranch in Chaumont, NY. It is conveniently located just 14 minutes from Clayton, NY, off Rte 12.

Coffee/tea/water and morning snacks will be provided.  There will be a lunch break so bring along your lunch or TIAC will happy to take your order for purchase from the Chateau lunch menu and pick it up for you. Lucky Star Ranch also offers guest rooms to rent if you’re inclined to stay on premises.
