Description: Coverlet fragment - Three shades of brown, Overshot weave; Warp: cotton, natural, hand spun, plied; Weft: finer cotton, natural; Pattern weft: three shades of brown wool, handspun. Selvedge on one side, draft included. Handwritten note from Terlouw reads, "A most unusual coverlet in the fact that the pattern weft is made up of two strands of different colored yarns." [Ruth Holroyd believes it is actually 3] "The draft given is really an educated guess, as there are a great number of errors, even some doubled warps."
