Rectangular sample mounted on card of plain weave with inlay. Ecru linen warp and weft with pattern weft of heavier linen and metallic thread. Inlay creates Empire State building-like silhouette in center. Two selvedges. Notes on card read: Interesting inlay pattern in that the heavy linen is inlaid part way and brought out to the surface, 2 tabby shots, and the heavy linen is laid in a little further and brought out again. This is repeated across the width and the heavy linen is returned the same way. The metallic gimp is inlaid in the same manner. Machine stitched at both warp ends.
