Very long, narrow sampler. Narrow, multicolored, horizontal bands show a variety of overshot patterns. Two selvedges and two knotted fringed ends. Hand basted pocket at one end. Warp threads are ecru linen, three ply Z twist. Binding and plain weave weft is a fine, two ply S twist yellow cotton yarn. Pattern weft varies in color and type, predominantly two ply heavy wool or wool-like synthetic in purple, mauve, grey, brown, buff, blue, gold rose and green.
