Grey and black shawl with long fringe on two sides. Very gradual gradation from black through dark to light grey across width of shawl. Note on original catalog card estimates date at apprx 1970 and says: purchased from the estate of Klara Cherepov by Lucille Landis for the Handweaving Museum. Plain weave. Yarns are heavy and textured, including boucle, irregularly spun and plied yarns, chenille, and flat faille ribbon. Woven as a triangle with three selvedges.
