Sample/fragment of fabric – Pre-Inca Peruvian, Chancay period. Red and gold colors. Appears to be a selvedge at the bottom, but these textiles were woven with four selvedges. The inlay establishes the direction of weaving. Plain weave with tapestry and inlay. Warp is cotton, natural. Weft is the same with wool tapestry and wool inlay.
