Blanket fragment – Grey and blue. Thick, double faced, blanket weight material, two layers woven differently, one side shows a stripe, the other as a color and weave effect with blue stripes forming a plaid. Twill weave, stitched double cloth. Warp is wool, grey, black, blue with a green rayon accent. Weft is the same, without the green. Ruth Holroyd notes, Difference of opinion on terminology; double-faced twill vs. double cloth. There are really 2 layers stitched together by a common weft thread, each layer is a twill.
