Silk Lace mantilla. Neutral color. Ruth writes in spite of the enclosed card that declares it to be French hand-made lace mantilla, it is actually machine-made lace; perhaps hand finished. It was purchased in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1944, on a 3-day pass from Army service during the war. This is extremely fragile now because it is disintegrating; the silk was not properly treated to prevent it
