 PART-TIME, PAID SEASONAL POTTERY INTERN TO

TEACH SUMMER CLAY CLASSES TO KIDS AGES 5 - 10 

The ideal candidate will have some pottery experience, be creative, responsible, organized, mature, and good-natured/upbeat.  Great for students who are looking to pursue a career in teaching or fine arts.

  • Months: July and August (16 class sessions)
  • Days of week: Every Tuesday and Thursday (2.5 hours each day)
  • Hours: 9:30am - noon
  • Class time: 10 - 11:30am, but candidate will report at 9:30 to prep daily project and greet parents and will stay after class ends to clean up studio.
  • Total hours needed: 80 hours

 Responsibilities:

  • Create projects for each class, keeping in mind that students will be using self-hardening clay. 
  • Open the studio at 9:30am to ready it for student arrival.
  • Work with students ages 5 - 10 to create unique clay projects during each class session.
  • Inform/demonstrate how students can paint and seal their projects at home. Supply handout to parents so they are aware of the finishing process.
  • Organize student projects at end of class each day and prep for parents to take projects home.
  • Tidy up pottery studio from class and inform staff when class is completed.
  • Keep office staff informed at all times of any issues you encounter or if there are items you need to perform your classroom duties successfully.
