Learn to create wearable art by painting lovely patterns, colors, and textures on clothing! This kind of artwork is great for sarongs, shirts, T-shirts, flowing loose pants, aprons, scarves, or yardage that can be sewn later into a garment. You’ll learn the techniques for hand painting, fluid wash, botanical prints, and stamping using eco-friendly dyes that are colorfast and washable. The colors you can create can be soft and subtle like summer breezes or the sizzling oranges and pinks of hot summer days. Paint or print cascading florals, animal prints or repeat geometric motifs. Bring clothing or fabric items (should be 100% cotton or linen) that you would like to embellish.
