PAINTING FROM LIFE WITH LINE & WASH

Still-Life-Apple
Instructor: Paul Allen Taylor

Friday | July 11 | 9:30am – 4:30pm

Tuition: $95
5 min / 10 max
Intermediate

Painting from life is good practice for seeing shapes, drawing skills and painting. Fruits have always been a popular subject matter for honing one’s skills. In this class the apple will be the subject, cut to expose the core seeds and change the shape and colors. The emphasis will be on sketching a dynamic drawing followed with watercolor. The class will open with a color mixing session and refresher on using line and wash with a matchstick. A short practice exercise will be done prior to the day’s subject. You’ll work on a 10” x 10” surface and your palette will be Cadmium Red Light, Cadmium Yellow Medium, and Prussian Blue. Students are required to bring their own equipment and a supply list is available upon registration. Please bring an apple to class (not for the teacher, lol!).
