In this class, professional artist Sarah Ellen Smith will give hands-on demonstrations in the use of broken pottery in mosaics. Save your favorite broken mug or plate to be reincarnated into a fun piece of art. Learn to use nippers, tile saws and found objects to give depth and interest in your mosaics projects. Sarah will have materials to use and several projects ready to complete.

Learn the ancient technique of mosaic art using an array of beautiful, multicolored stained glass. A variety of river and nature-themed patterns designed by the instructor are traced onto an 8” x 8” indoor/outdoor tile as the pallet for your creation. You’ll then learn glass cutting skills, mosaic glass laying techniques, and grouting as you create your finished piece. Once you’ve learned how to do mosaic art, you’ll want to mosaic everything!
