Coverlet – Dark pink, navy blue, celery green and cream colored with birds and floral medallions and floral baskets. Main body of coverlet has floral pattern. Bottom border is floral basket pattern with stars below. Side border has chickens with flowers below. Bottom corners have text which reads: Samuel Meily Mans Field Richland Ohio 1842 Coverlet is woven in two sections, attached at center with fringe on 3 sides. Jacquard double weave with cotton warp and weft, and wool pattern weft in 4 color stripes. Top edge is worn and has one small hole which is protected by a navy blue binding which has been loosened so it may be examined.
