Coverlet fragment – Dark blue and dark natural. Overshot weave, simple diamond pattern. Warp is cotton, dark natural, handspun. Weft is cotton, handspun, finer than warp. Pattern weft is heavy wool, indigo, plied. Draft attached. Bubbling suggests the material has been washed, which causes uneven shrinkage of fibers.
