Coverlet fragment – Blue and white; summer and winter weave, 6 shaft; Mosaic 4 harness draft; wool and cotton. Good selvedge on one side, splits the design for seaming. Traditionally, in S & W the tabby weft is 1/2 the size of the warp. It closes to square because of the weave structrue. Warp is cotton, plied. Weft is cotton, fine. Pattern weft is wool, indigo.
