Given to Serena Buchannan (staff potter) Jacquard woven coverlet. Woven by prisoners at the Auburn prison ca 1850. Woven in two leavels and hand stitched together rolled stitched hems. Coverlet, cotton and wool patterns with snow balls and birds, some errors but an example of creative and skilled work done by prisoners. SW Heavy weight navy and white. warp cotton. wool singles filing.
