5 min / 12 max
Documentary photography is visual storytelling in which the photographer strives to capture the action and emotion of real-life moments to engage an intended audience. This workshop will provide a brief history of documentary photography, a framework for seeking and composing compelling images, examples from the instructor’s portfolio, a look at works by several contemporary documentary photographers, and a “walk-about” through Clayton in search of recordable moments.
Students, please bring a DSL or mirrorless camera or a quality phone camera; comfortable walking shoes; weather-appropriate clothing; a snack, and water.
