Make your paintings feel real. Feel the breeze and hear the rushing water. By using simple table salt and paint splatter, you’ll learn to create texture. Special strokes of the brush called dry brushing will give a mottled look to the sand and the water. Layers of paint, some wet on wet and some wet over dry will provide the look of transparency. The angle of the water’s path will give your painting depth and perspective. Minimal colors and very few pencil lines need to be drawn to produce a wonderful warm painting.

Students, please bring: Watercolor paper (140 lb cold press), watercolor brushes, a palette and watercolor paints, table salt, paper towels, a pencil, and an eraser.
