Window blind sample – Woven with grasses or reeds for warp, along with cream yarn every 5th row. Weft stripes are jute, cream, green, blue and metallic gold. Corner is cut out of this sample. Alice Mattil made several samples (see related objects) of placemats and window blinds. A note with the objects reads, I did many placemats and window blinds for family and friends. I experimented for weavings using natural Kansas materials.
