The Thousand Islands Arts Center is thrilled to welcome the community to our Grand Opening & Summer Arts Kick-Off at the new Arts Center facility located at 321 James Street in Clayton on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM.
Join us for this exciting free event as we officially open the doors to our new 13,000 sq. ft. creative space and celebrate the beginning of an inspiring summer season at the Arts Center.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore the new facility through guided tours of the galleries, classrooms, and creative spaces, experience a fresh exhibition, participate in hands-on kids’ crafts, browse local artisan vendors, and shop the expanded gift shop featuring new and locally inspired items. Raffles, giveaways, and additional surprises throughout the day will make this a celebration for all ages.
The new Arts Center facility represents an exciting new chapter for arts and culture in the Thousand Islands region. Made possible through the support of private donors, foundations—including the Northern New York Community Foundation—and grants from the New York State Council on the Arts, the expanded facility allows the Arts Center to grow beloved programs in pottery, painting, fiber arts, photography, and more.
The building also features a permanent handweaving exhibit, dedicated research and library spaces, and a welcoming James Street entrance designed to increase accessibility and community engagement.
Whether you are a longtime supporter or visiting for the first time, we invite you to celebrate this milestone with us and kick off the summer surrounded by creativity, community, and the arts.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
