1000 Islands Art & Craft & Antique Festival Returns to Clayton August 9–10
Clayton – The Thousand Islands Arts Center is pleased to announce the return of its annual
1000 Islands Art & Craft & Antique Festival, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 9-10, at
the Cerow Arena, located at 615 East Line Road in Clayton. Event hours are 10-5 on Saturday,
and 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday.
This juried event will feature more than 50 vendors from across the region, offering a wide
variety of original art, handmade crafts, antiques, and collectibles. Guests can browse an
impressive selection that includes woodworking, pottery, glassworks, fiber arts, paintings,
handmade soaps, jewelry, gourmet foods, antique furniture, and much more.
New to this year’s festival are several interactive features designed to engage and delight
attendees. Visitors can enjoy live weaving demonstrations, take part in hands-on pottery
activities led by the Arts Center’s staff potter, and explore the newly launched Fix-It Fair upstairs
in the arena. The Fix-It Fair will showcase local artisans demonstrating talents such as jewelry
welding, sewing, chair caning, appraisals, and other repair-based skills. Community members
with “fixing” talents are invited to participate and can contact Katherine@tiartscenter.org for
more information.
In addition to exceptional shopping, the festival also offers interactive community craft tables,
exciting raffle baskets, a bouncy house for kids, and the chance to connect with artists and
makers from across the North Country.
Admission is $6 per day, and guests are welcome to return later in the day to pick up purchased
items. Military members, spouses, children, and retirees with a valid Military ID receive a
discounted admission of $5, and children 15 and under are admitted free.
Hosted by the Thousand Islands Arts Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving
and promoting the arts and handweaving, proceeds from this event support educational
programming and exhibitions throughout the year.
