Artists! Be an exhibitor at the Arts Center!
CLAYTON – The Thousand Islands Arts Center is accepting submissions for its premier regional
art exhibition and sale, Along The River’s Edge (ATRE). The event is a benefit for both artists and
the Arts Center. As the most celebrated and longest running Arts Center exhibition, ATRE has earned a
reputation amongst summer residents and local art collectors alike as the “must-see” show
each summer. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to exhibit in this phenomenal show!
The artwork does not need to be river-themed, must be original and not previously exhibited at
the Arts Center and must be offered for sale. Deadline for submissions is Sunday, July 13.
The juried show will feature artwork from premier regional and national artists representing
the best in a variety of art mediums. The Arts Center anticipates that the exhibition will include
more than 100 pieces of artwork including fiber art, paintings – watercolors, pastels and oils –
jewelry, sculpture – wood and metal – photography and ceramics. All of the artwork will be
available for sale.
Along the River’s Edge will be on exhibition Aug. 20-Nov. 14, with the opening reception on
Wednesday, Aug. 20, from 5-7 pm. The reception is open to the public and free to attend.
Awards will be presented as follows: Catherine C. Johnson Award ($500); Kincaid Award ($300);
People’s Choice ($200); and Juror’s Choice ($100). Awards are made possible through the
generosity of the families of Catherine C. Johnson, James Kincaid, and Barbara Trimble.
