“CHRISTMAS IN JULY”: A Paracord Holiday Basket

This is a fun basket to weave with friends and great for the holidays. Students will start with pre-cut and glued spokes into the base. This will allow students to start weaving right away on class day. The design is triple twined with three colors of paracord in a stacking pattern. A regular flat oval rim with paracord rim filler and lashed with flat oval reed to finish your holiday basket. Techniques include triple twining, a stacking pattern, shaping and a regular rim. This is a great basket to put a candle in with some pinecones and evergreens for a centerpiece. It is also a nice size to put a liner in and use as a bread basket.

This is a great basket to learn how to weave a twill pattern. Weave the twill base, twine a lock on row and twill weave the sides. The rim is a basic rim with flat oval reed, seagrass filler and cotton cord lashing. There will be a choice of colors. Optional handles. This is a good basket to use as a bread basket, gift basket or casserole basket.

This condensed version of the Adirondack Pack Basket employs the same weaving technique as the original larger design. The pack stands about 10” high when completed and makes a great mantle decoration, can hold a vase for greenery, and can fit a young child for actual use. The 12” option can fit a young adult. Choice of harness colors are brown, red, green, and black. Please choose basket size and harness color upon registering.
